I always imagined there were many, many more levels. Ya know, kinda like a cruise ship.
As a kid, I had the cutaway poster of the Enterprise from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" hanging on my wall. It amazed me that somebody had actually worked out how the ship "worked."
